Integrated growth strategy for new, innovative public-source water solutions startup
About the Client
GLOBALTAP is focused on providing people with clean drinking water primarily in high-visibility public locations. Since 2009, GLOBALTAP has developed projects in San Francisco, California, Colorado, Miami, US national parks, and many schools. It has also been featured in HBO health-related programming.
Business Challenge
Growth Decisions has been working with GLOBALTAP since 2009. After initial success demonstrating product viability, GLOBALTAP retained Growth Decisions to help them create an integrated growth strategy and action plan that would position the company for solid, sustainable and profitable growth in 2012 and beyond.
How We Helped
Growth Decisions assembled a nimble and very experienced team to support GLOBALTAP. This team assisted them with three key strategy areas:
Marketing and branding: Efforts translated into closing new deals and pilots (i.e. HBO 100 units, NYC pilot)
Business planning: Prepared the company for $2M in 2013 sales with a stronger, better focalized pipeline that will continue building toward $20M in 2017
Action planning: Articulated company growth plan and specific action plans to provide hydration stations to California schools, which could represent, if implemented, more than 20,000 stations and $30M in revenue
With its experience providing services to companies of different sizes, geographies and points of development, Growth Decisions became a reliable development partner and helped GLOBALTAP navigate the uncertainties and challenges typical in early-stage ventures to become a solid business.
Growth Decisions was recognized for its management consulting excellence as one of three 2013 Value & Excellence Award finalist of the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF) in New York alongside the two largest “Big 4” professional service firms.
Led multifunctional team to perform detailed due diligence to decide on $50M acquisition of potential partner. Project included detailed assessment of current business strength, products and operations and estimation of future growth outlook scenarios and overall fit with client’s overall M&A strategy. Management accepted recommendation.
